EDITION 2014
San José Foto 1
The first edition of the festival took place between 3 and 6 April 2014. Its first objective was to extend the photograph to the interior of the country with a quality proposal, which included the presence of prominent representatives of local and international photography. In that first experience the theme of the festival was “Us”, betting on the reflection on Latin American identity and daily life through photography.
The curator of the festival was the Spanish Alejandro Castellote and selected authors from Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay for the central exhibitions of the festival.

San José Foto 2
The second edition of the festival was held from 7 to 10 April 2016. In this edition of San José Foto, the curatorship was in charge of the Spanish Cristina de Middel and the theme of the same focused on “Gender.” The festival was attended by international and national guests who shared their experiences together with exhibitions at the San José Cultural Space, a municipal museum and a public thoroughfare of authors from Brazil, Uruguay,México,Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, Ghana, France and Spain.

The Third edition of the festival was held from 8 to 11 April 2018. In this edition of San José Foto, the curatorship was in charge of the Argentinian Nicolás Janowski and the theme of the same focused on “Links.” The festival was the largest of all our editions in terms of exhibitions, educational activities, workshops, photobook fair, and 37 authors from 28 different countries participated.
