We present the curator of our third edition; the Argentine Nicolás Janowski will be in charge of establishing a reflexive dialogue on the theme “Links” through a selection of international projects expressed in an innovative expository proposal in public spaces of the city of San José.
Photographer, Anthropologist and Curator born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Among other awards, he has received the Repsol ArtLima Prize in 2014 and he was honored by the National Gallery of Arts in Argentina. In 2015 he was selected by TIME Magazine as one of the 9 photographers to follow in Argentina. His recent book Fin del Mundo has been awarded in the Latin American Colloquium as the best Photobook of the year 2017.
Apart from his personal work as Visual Artist, he has performed some activities such as being Adjunct Curator and Coordinator of the Educational Program at FOLA (Latin American Photo Museum) in Buenos Aires since 2015, and Curator at PHMuseum since 2013, a virtual museum for contemporary photography.
As a teacher and lecturer he has delivered workshops at different training centers as the Master Latinoamericano de Fotografía from Centro de la Imagen de Lima (Peru), at the Festival Paraty em Foco (Brazil) in several occasions, in 4 Caminos Museum at the City of Mexico & at FIFFV Festival in Valparaiso.
He has been Jury of different International Awards. In two opportunities he was the judge of García Márquez Foundation for the Iberoamerican Journalism (FNPI). He was also member of the jury in the emerging award at PHMuseum (2014-2016), and at the Photojournalism Peace Award Juan Antonio Serrano (Quito, Ecuador) in 2016. The same year he was one of the nominators and selectors for 10×10 CLAP Latin American PhotoBook.
